Maxell branded RiTEK 16x DVD+R, burned @ 8x

Samsung (TSSTcorp) SH-S203N (SB01), 4168 MB
Burned @ 8x with ImgBurn
MID: RITEK F16 (Stamper code: VR5F16-00140)

Sold as "Maxell 16x Color DVD+R" in jewel cases

Note: The Maxell-branded color DVD+R discs are made by RiTEK -- but the MIDs used in such media vary by batch. This batch used RITEK F16 MIDs (but other times, Maxell gets RICOHJPN R03 MIDs, and lately, RITEK R05 MIDs). The test results apply only to this particular 10-pack of Maxell-branded RITEK F16 DVD+R discs.

TDK branded RiTEK 16x DVD+R, burned @ 8x

Samsung (TSSTcorp) SH-S203N (SB01), 4482 MB
Burned @ 8x with CD-DVD Speed
MID: RITEK R05 (Stamper code: VR5RK1-00290)

Sold as "TDK 16x DVD+R" in 50 pcs. spindle

Note: RiTEK's quality control has been all over the place of late. But I can tell you that the R05 dye is distinctly inferior to the same company's F16 dye (differences in dye formula notwithstanding)...

TDK branded RiTEK 16x DVD+R burned at 12x

Lite-On LH-16W1P SL08 , 4482 MB

This is the first time I've ever posted a scan/test so bear with me if I pooch it, and honestly I have no idea how to read the results but I think, in comparison to some others I've seen, it's ok. You folks tell me, ok? If I'm doing something that's incorrect, or the settings as shown in the images are "wrong," someone point that out also. Thanks.

------------------

No-name DH-16W1P drive (OEM rebadged Lite-On LH-16W1P)

I found the info needed to flash the drive from the original LG12 firmware (whoever made that should be shot I think) to the latest SL02 that I could find through this forum, and then flashed the *actual* Lite-On SL08 that's currently available. Also, I burned the "Create Disc" portion at 12x.

The media came from a 50 pack spindle of TDK DVD+R purchased at Radio Shack a few days ago - they're on sale for $10.99 so I think I might grab a few more before the price spikes back up.

So, would one of you infinitely more knowledgeable folks take a look at this info and tell me if this is good or bad, in a PM if necessary as I don't think regular discussion is allowed here (sorry for all this info, just wanted to be horough for the first time).

Here's the results:

Maxell branded RiTEK 16x DVD+R, burned at 8x

Samsung (TSSTcorp) SH-S203N (SB01), 4290 MB

Burned at 8x with ImgBurn.
MID: RITEK F16
Stamper code: VR5F16-00368

Sold as "Maxell 16x Color DVD+R" in jewel cases
This particular 10-pack, as it turned out, has two different batches of RITEK F16 discs mixed in the same package. Hence, the "MDM" code at the end of the part number.
