Comments: I don't think that GS0H is very good for burning +R at 8x. It slows back down to 4x towards the end, hence the error spike there.

Comments: This burn turned out better than the burn done with the newer GS0H FW. GS0F seems to handle this media better because it doesn't slow down to 4x at the end of the burn, and it doesn't attempt a premature 6x jump at the start. The writing strats between the two FW versions are also different and it seems that GS0F's strat produces fewer errors than GS0H's. So when it comes to firmwares, the latest isn't always the greatest.

Comments: Note that this is RICOHJPN-R00. These are the 1st generation 2.4x Ricoh +R discs, overspeed-burned at 8x. Turns out this 2.4x Ricoh disc did a better job overspeeding to 8x than even some of my 4x Ricoh discs! If you look at the 2.4x@8x scans rdgrimes posted (the two posts right after this one), it seems that the R00 is pretty good media.

No complaints about these cd's. They are pretty good.
