After looking at this scan, I was amazed the disc was readable. I did a compare of the files - one was corrupt so this disc is officially a coaster.

- this is a repeat of the last test, but at 2.4x

I used Nero 6.3 to burn both of these sets - and both times it hung up a bit over halfway through the verification process (at 53% and 57%). A cold boot was required - Nero wouldn't end and the drive kept on running.

There is a much lower average error rate on this burn, and a compare of all of the files was successful but that spike still worries me.

Verdict: If you have a 812S, this is media to avoid.

- Platinum disc from the same spindle of 25 as the previous tests.

US0N appears to eliminate the spike seen near the beginning of the prior burns and reduces the errors at the end, but IMHO this media still has unacceptable error rates.

I just bought 100 pcs of this media. Sold as Commodore 4X +R. I got terrified after reading this thread... Burned one with 832S (VS0E FW, with recommended tweaks from Omnipatcher). I burned the brand new DVD-image of Fedora Core 3. After I used the KProbe's checking, I was awestruck! Absolutely fantastic results!!! AND with postage and packaking, the price per media was 0,47 euros... I am VERY, VERY glad

You're lucky Msuomi... I re-scanned my vdspmsab001 dvd+r's I burned with nec 2500a (@107V2B5) with my LiteOn, and here's what I got.
