The first disc is burned with the NEC2500A with herrie's firmware, at a speed of 4x.

The second disc is made with the LITEON SOH832S at a speed of 4x.

An amazing result I must say, i thought that the NEC was a better writer than the Lite on. Apparently not for these discs

Discs are sold as Samsung cakebox 25 pieces.

Burnt at 2.4x with the LiteOn 832S, read back with maximum read-speed.

Nice, very nice result. Also notice the disc defect (also visible in previous scans) which causes the high PI/PO spike in the middle!

Re: Beall DVD+R

I bought and burned a spindle of 50 BeAll 4x on my NEC 2510A about a year ago. About 20 of the disks are no longer readable.

I wonder if the 16x disks improve the quality, not that I'll ever buy BeAll again.

Re: Beall DVD+R

I doubt I will buy any again either. I just wanted to test out some 16x media and got them for a fair price.

If I remember next year I will scan it again.

For what it's worth, thanks for testing these. I would think if one burner could get a good burn on something, the LG would. The PIE looked good, but the PIF...ugh! Thanks for your test, b/c you saved me from making a $$$ mistake.
