Voice commentary plays automatically and I can't get rid of it

Just like the title says. A few times now - for some unexplicable reason I have made backups of DVDs and when I go to check them they have the audio commentaries playing automatically and I can't seem to turn it off. I tried it on a conventional DVD player as well as my laptop with WinDVD. I copied it again and the same problem. This time I used the write existing data option in clonedvd.

The two titles are Family Guy Vol. 3 Season 4 Disc 3 and the new movie Click. I don't understand. This has happened once before. How do I burn a copy without this commentary.

I have the newest version of anydvd (6.0.8.0) and clone dvd. The problem happened before I copied Click with the family guy dvd and then again after I updated anydvd to be able to copy click.

Please help. I'm making lots of coasters!!!!!

AC3/6 = main movie audio
AC3/2 = directors commentaries
Default choices are on the right side of page 2, along with subtitle selectons.

Re: Voice commentary plays automatically and I can't get rid of it

In the free program, DVD Shrink, you can preview the audio tracks in the video clip window by right-clicking on it and choosing from the Audio menu.

When you find the right track, the one you want to have as the default, you can opt to exclude the other audio tracks from the Re-Author or Backup process and re-export the modified version.

I have done this a few times because in part some disks seem to have a strange way of ordering the tracks and if I did a simple rip/copy, the first audio track was NOT the main Stereo or Dolby 5.1 track for the movie, but was instead one of the commentary tracks.

Using DVD Shrink in this manner allowed me to correct the problem.

I hope it works for you.
