Hello,

Has anyone had the problem of not being able to use CloneDVD2 to write directly to HP DVD+R discs? It writes beautifully to HP DVD+RW but not to the +R. So in order to get a proper copy, I have to rip it, then burn it two times, once for the +RW disc and again to the +R disc. Details follow:

1. Burn Ab Power from hard drive to HP DVD+R using Copy DVD Titles menu.
Unplayable disk
2. Burn Ab Power from hard drive to another +R disk using Write Existing Data menu.
Unplayable disk
3. Burned Ab Power from hard drive to HP DVD+R disk using Clone DVD menu.
Unplayable
4. Burned Ab Power from hard drive to HP DVD+RW disk using Clone DVD.
OK
5. Burned Ab Power from HP DVD+RW to +R disk using Clone DVD.
OK

Smartripper v2.41
HP DVD Writer 200i V1.36
WinXP Pro v2002 SP1
HP Pavilion Intel Pentium 4, 2.66GHz, 512 MB RAM

First of all wath's ab power??? and dit you try to burn the movie?? with nero from hd..

and use DVDDecrypter to rip your dvd

Thank you for your response dvdevil, but I found out what the problem was:

I fixed it by upgrading the firmware on the HP DVD Writer 200i from v1.36 to v1.72!

BTW: Yes, I used Smartripper to rip it in the first place, sorry I forgot to include this minor detail!
