| I solved my problem and got a clean copy of Terminator 3 with the movie soundtrack. CloneDVD does not have enough explanation of how to select which options to use. MadBob wrote a fairly thorough CloneDVD/AnyDVD guide but glossed over some finer points. I believe under the “Copy DVD Titles” button, page three, Audio and Subtitle Settings, Audio Streams, CloneDVD presents the various audio streams in order of importance, main movie sound track, director’s comments, etc. Unless you can figure out what stream does what, it is best to select all streams. It doesn’t save any disk space by unselecting any audio stream. You will not get better video resolution by unselecting any audio stream. Furthermore, unless you save the menus, you can’t get at the alternate audio streams on your disk anyway. The typical DVD player will use the first audio stream on the cloned DVD. I deduced the “facts” above from the various postings on the CD Freaks web site. If I am in error, my apologies. |

![]() OK if anyone has any input on points that need expanding, and can come up with a clear and concise explanation of said point, I will edit the Tutorial to include this, (well G@M3FR3@K will after I send it to him) ![]() Oh BTW you can always decode the content to file, and play it there first to test it before burning! | willytc1066: You have jumped to a conclusion here, the wrong one. For all CloneDVD does not show a compression 'improvement' when you deselect an audio track, it still makes one! Future versions of CloneDVD will show the impact of the presence of the audio channels on the video quality. The more audio you leave out, the less the video needs to be compressed and, all other things being equal, the better its quality will be. -Pete |

2) Most times, it's pretty clear what's what. MadBob and I did discover though that removing a foreign soundtrack can lead to no sound at all (the Crouching/Hidden Tiger movie - whatever it's really called ). MadBob also found that the biggest movie is not necessarily what you really want (PotA for example).3) Well of course it does, as has been stated ![]() 4) If the Prohibited User Operations (PUOs) are stripped out, I find that I can change from DTS > AC3 > PCM > DTS on the fly (Onkyo AV and Panasonic set-top DVD player) using the remote. Depending on your PC software player you may be able to do the same. 5) It will play the audio stream muxed as 0x80 - this is the 'first-play' stream. ![]() It pays to become familiar with the structure of a DVD and inspecting the disc in DVD Decrypter (IFO Mode) also assists in understanding wjat's on the disc.
