Re: Shrek 2

Do you have any programs to check the disk? such as DVDINFO or CDVDInfo(plextor). check and see what number are set on your burnt DVD. It should look something like this:

Status: DVD media inserted

Type : DVD+RW
Certified Write Speed: 2.4 X - 4.0 X
Drive Write Speed : 2.4 X - 4.0 X
Manufacturer ID : RICOHJPN
Media ID : W11
Product Revision : 01

Label: BOTH_ON_1_DVD
Contents:
4.25 GB, ISO 9660, UDF
1 layer(s) (PTP)
Application: ELBY CLONEDVD
Publisher: -
Disc region: 1 2 3 4 5 6 8
Video: MPEG-1 720x480 NTSC 4:3
Audio: -

Look at the BOLD area, yours should have 1 - 8

If not, while ANYDVD is in your tray, double click on it and look to make sure you havn't unchecked anything.

If the source disc has RCE protection (unlikely, but ...), make sure, that AnyDVD's region is set to the region of the source disc.

Re: Shrek 2

The question is, was the original DVD RCE protected.
If yes, you should have set the Region of AnyDVD to the region of the originial Disc *before* copying it with CloneDVD.

How can you tell if the DVD is RCE protected? I also thought that using AnyDVD would take away all protection and the burnt DVD would be clear of looking for which region it's in

Re: Shrek 2

as far as i know it will only remove rce if you have selected the correct region in anydvd (it has to match the original dvd region)...

It does. Please use the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON in AnyDVD's settings window.

Yes, because RCE protected discs appear region free, but check the region with a region code script. As the disc appears region free, AnyDVD cannot know the correct region.
All RCE discs I have seen have always been Region 1 (AnyDVD default), but ... who knows?
RCE discs are the only reason to set AnyDVD's region. AnyDVD will do it automatically with normal discs (see AnyDVD help, right mouse button).
