Re: quick question

@ haleybean,

The DVD MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) (Example: TYG02) is the only way to identify DVD Media. Many marketers of DVD Media like Verbatim, FujiFilm, Sony, Imation, ect do not actually manufacture the DVD Media that they sell. These marketers contract with various different large DVD Media manufactures and purchase mass bulk amounts of DVD Media and place the DVD Media in a package their brand name on the package.

To obtain the MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) (Example: TYG02) of DVD Media use a utility software program similar to DVD Identifier (http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com) or DVDInfo (http://www.dvdinfopro.com).

Best Regards,
bjkg

Re: quick question

bjkg is really big on ID'ing the codes etc. Me ... I don't want to buy something and wait till I get home and open it and to check it out. I want to know when I buy it that it is quality media. I'll just follow experienced member's recommendations. And many on cdf just order the plane vanilla verbs , in stores or online, and have great results. I think the movie-reel fancy verbs are marketing BS.

Double Post !

Double Post !

@ haleybean,

Verbatim DVD is outstanding Media if the package clearly states Made In Japan. If the Verbatim package states made in any other country other than Made In Japan avoid purchasing because the quality is unknown and consider suspect.

Some Verbatim DVD Media is made in Taiwan and is manufacture by Ritek. Ritek Media at one time was considered reliable Media but recently their quality control has suffered greatly and new Ritek Media is consider suspect.

Suggest visiting the CD Freak Blank Media Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33) and do some research on DVD Media. For starter suggest reviewing the below Media FAQ

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=61943

Perchance why would you start another Forum posting concerning DVD Media? Now you have two active CloneDVD Forum postings concerning DVD Media. This isn’t going to get your question answered any quicker but will only lead to confusion.

Suggest reviewing the Forum Rules (http://club.cdfreaks.com/announcemen...ouncementid=37) and note the comments concerning Double Posting. As stated in the Forum Rules Double Posting is not allowed.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Re: quick question

Update the firmware for your DVD burner drive.

Why did you start another thread? You already have this one going. Please don't do that again.

Re: quick question

Verbatim media with Made in Taiwan must not be Ritek. It could also be that you've normal Verbs with MCC mid. Especially when talkin about MCC 004, there also MIT and MII(Made in India). And for the movie style, yes i guess it's a marketing strategy too.
