Quick Audio Question - Club CDFreaks

Say a DVD has 2 "Audio Channel" options (2 channel & 6 channel). I want to have the 5.1 Surround option (this is 6 channel, correct?) and also have the option to watch the DVD on just a television speaker.

My question is do I need the 2 channel option? Basically what I am asking is, if I only select the 6 channel option, will I be able to watch the DVD with just a built in television sound system? Thanks!

The 5.1 track will be automatically downmixed by your dvd player to stereo, so basically you can just ditch the 2 channel track and get a better quality video track into the bargain.
