Re: Just a Thanks ANY DVD

What a nightmare. I went round and round with John Smith and got no where. I tried to explain that Clone Mobile created a AVI. File that My Creative Zen Vision W was unable to read/play and I had to use the conversion program that my Vision W came with to convert the AVI file into a .WMV and it played fine on my Vision W. I explained that it seemed that Clone Mobile outputed the file in the wrong formate for my player.
His responce was "our program dose not support WMV." I emailed him back explaining in detail that I know Clone Mobile dose not support or creat WMV. file. I also explained that Clone mobile created a AVI. that did not work in my player and explained I had to convert it into WMV. for my player to be able to play it. The Reply was "Your player is not supported by Clone Mobile" ????? am I crazy or is this guy nutz? My player is supported and is listed in the list of players within Clone mobile. I give up.

Edward Sawacki to Slysoft show details Jan 10 (16 hours ago) OMG. Are you even reading my emails? Your program Clone mobile converted the movie pirates dead mans chest into a .AVI file that my Creative Vision W could not play. are you with me so far? My creative vision W has a video conversion program and was able to convert the .AVI file that clone mobile created and Converted it into a .WMV file. My creative Vision W was able to play that file. It seems to me that Clone Mobile converted the original .AVI file for a different mobile media player other than my Creative Vision W. Got it? This is not hard to follow just take your time and read my email. I am a little frustrated that this is the 3rd time I have had to explain the same thing 3 different ways. I know Clone mobile dose not support .WMV so please stop telling me what I already know. Fix the software so it will output the proper AVI file for the Proper player. - Show quoted text - On 1/10/07, Slysoft Support <support@slysoft.com> wrote: Hi, The format CLoneDVD mobile used is correct. Why not use the "Generic (Divx)" option?

From Zen Vision W product page:

Quote:
ZEN Vision W supports many video formats, such as AVI, DivX™ 4 & 5, XviD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG4-SP, WMV9 and Motion-JPEG, which simply means more choices and fewer restrictions.
Note: Yes, I realize within CloneDVDmobile it lists the Zen Vision W but since that isn't working see if the generic DivX works instead.

Zycore -

It appears that you are unaware that you are posting in the AnyDVD Forum.

Your above posting problem has absolutely noting to do with the AnyDVD Software Program and as such your posting is “Off Topic” for the AnyDVD Forum. Your posting would be more appropriate if posted in the correct CD Freaks CloneDVD Forum.

Best Regards,

I believe it was Alan who put it here. Maybe he can move it to the CloneDVD forum?

Done. The only reason I left in the AnyDVD forum was because that was where the original thread about " Thanks Slysoft" was, I split the thread because it got to be off topic from the title. I should have put it in CloneDVD Forum, my mistake. Sorry.

Re: Problems with conversion from DVD to Zen device".

My intent was to point out to Slysoft that Clone mobile DVD outputed a file in the wrong format for my player. Nothing more. I was miffed at the responce I recieved from Mr. John Smith. In frustration I posted my Emails. This post was originaly posted in a thread giving props to Slysoft on what great software they have. I agreed that they have great software but felt customer service needed some polish. My emails confirm my feelings.

I will try the Generic settings. Thanks.

I can't blame you for being annoyed. I would be too.

Sadly, anyone is bound to have a problem now and then even with the best of products and/or best of companies. Personally, I can't say I've ever had a problem but then again I never found myself in a similar situation with Slysoft.

I realize the suggestion of Generic DivX was far from a fix but, for the time being, I figured I'd offer it as a solution. I'm just not sure what the filesize differences would be. I'm really not familiar with portable MP3 players or their supported formats since I still haven't spent any money on one... yet.

Hopefully, Slysoft will either: (1) resolve the problem or (2) remove the Zen Vision W from the list of supported devices since it appears to not actually work.

Re: Problems with conversion from DVD to Zen device".

I have been having the same problems with CloneDVD Mobile and my Creative Zen Vision W. I wrote to customer support to ask for help and they were less than helpful. The only answers that I got were denials that it could be the software's fault and an explanation that mobile devices lock up from time to time. Apparently, it doesn't matter that my CZVW only locks up on videos made with CloneDVD Mobile using the CSVW settings.

Now, I have to go through a second conversion with the Creative Video Conversion software to make it work, but it is a lengthy process.

I have tried to tweak the Devices.ini file with no luck. If I use the setting for the Vision M, the video plays, but it is only half of the screen (and I want to use the whole screen).

Is there any news of a fix? Does anyone have advice on fixing the Devices.ini file?

I have searched on this forum and not been able to find anything yet.
