play dvd in car?? - Club CDFreaks

my car (mazda rx-8) comes with a dvd-rom. is it possible that if i changed the booktype to DVD-rom, that it would recognize and play. if this is the wrong forum please let me know. thanks

Why not?
Just try some formats out to see which media your car dvd player likes.

Your posting is a little bit confusing. Exactly what are your attempting to have your DVD-ROM to “recognize and play”. Please provide amplifying information.

Most newer DVD-ROMs with play any valid media without the need to change +R or +RW media to Book Type Setting DVD-ROM.

yes recognize and play. and my attempt didnt work. I guess it only recognizes the navigational dvd

i thing he means that some cars cd players nowadays are dvd-rom readable, for to play a music from dvd-rom (obviously with another laser)

Recode the firmware and it may work......

What DVD are you trying? A backup you have burned or the original factory pressed DVD?
