| Older versions of software Hi, I to am having problems with Clonedvd/Anydvd causing backups to stop or glitch when played back, I have tried all of the methods that have been previously discussed such as updating drivers, dma, different media, all to no avail. My problems started when I downloaded the new version of Clonedvd v1.3.11.2, prior to this I was using Clonedvd v 1.2.8.4 and had no problems at all. I have also read in this forum that members experiencing problems similar to mine have replaced Clonedvd v 1.3.11.2 with v 1.2.8.4 My question then is :- Where can I get the earlier version of Clonedvd V 1.2.8.4 ? I would like to try this version again to see if this will cure my problems. I still have around 15 days left of the trial period on both Clonedvd and Anydvd v 3.2.1.1. My thanks to anyone who can help. Tayman AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz Asus A7V MB XP Pro SP1 Hitachi Dvd-Rom GD-7500 LG CDRW CED-8080B Pioneer DVR-A05 |

| Tayman, I don't know where to get older versions, but using older versions doesn't really address the problem on the long run. My guess is, that you use broken IDE Busmaster drivers. Replace them, or even better, use the Microsoft drivers that came with XP.

| Thanks for your swift reply Olli, I tried uninstalling the IDE bus master, but the problem persisted. After doing this a number of times I noticed that when I uninstalled the IDE controllers two of the three cd/dvd drives would uninstall as well ( I didnt know if this was supposed to happen), the thing is I realised that the two drives that uninstalled (Hitachi dvd rom + LG cdr drive) were connected together by the same ribbon cable(IDE cable?) and that the remaining drive that didnt uninstall was the Pioneer A05, this drive was connected to the HD. I decided to swap the positions of the LG cdr and the Pioneer over so that the dvd reader and writer were connected, I rebooted, reinstalled the bus master IDE drivers again and hey presto it works a dream, (Backups without Glitches). Hopefully this may be of help to someone with similar problems Anyway Nice Forum and Good Luck Tayman ![]() |
