I have used Cdclone in the past & just started playing with DVD2clone. I am unsure of the how to backup workable copies of a PS2 game.

Re: Noob needs direction pls

Hi there - CloneDVD2 will only copy movies. Most PS2 games can be backed up with DVDDecrypter (free) or CloneCD (pay) or indeed most disc copy software. However you will need a mod chip or a boot disc to be able to play the backups.

Most PS2 games are now on DVD, but some are on CD. So you just change your media to suit.

There is also some games that are a lot harder to backup - especially ones on dual layer discs.

Personally I would go for good +R discs that have been bitset to DVD-Rom - they seem to work best for me. Although most new PS2's will read - and + media no problem.

I would do a bit of research on the console forums for more detailed info on backing up PS2 games before you start!!
