Get rid of the nVidia driver. Roll it back to the MS inbox driver and you'll have a lot less problems - worked for me.

Ok, seems that everyone has problems with these drivers. First of all my spec:
MSI K7N2 ILSR-nforce 2 chipset
Athlon XP 3000+
512 RAM DDR 400Mhz
LTN 526S-LTR52327S, SD616Q-DVDRW SOHW812S.
Win2003

I never used MS drivers. But i remember the first drivers of nvidia that i had installed i had problems with some cdr's.
After i installed IDE driver 3.66.
3 Days ago i tried the new 4.12 driver but i couldn't write with my dvd-r as it has been losing its buffer all the time. At the begining i thought that the problem was by my dvdr. At second thought i disconnect tha samsung dvd reader as it was at the same ide.
Finally was the drivers! For now on i 'll use the v3.66 drivers, i had no problem with those..

Hope to help..

Re: nForce2 Bus Mastering IDE

Well I have no problems whatsoever with my nForce2 drivers.. In fact they work better than the MS drivers..

Usually problems are attributed with the drivers because of the way they interact with the board, hence why some people with different boards encounter these problems.. Which is why Im not going to recommend them or discourage their use.. Everyone needs to see how they work out on their own systems..

Re: nForce2 Bus Mastering IDE

I had problems with all burning applications when the Nvidia drivers were installed. The MS drivers work perfect for me.

Primarily DVDShrink but I also use CloneDVD2 and DVDDecryptor on special occassions.. The transcoding times are a bit faster using the nVidia drivers..
