Need Help diagnosing Playback problem in dvd player... So, like others, I use both anydvd and clonedvd and have updated to the latest version. My desktop has 2 separate NEC ND-3550A 1.05 drives. I too have not had a problem in the past running this software on my computer and never receive error messages. I just ran Nero CD-DVD Speed 4.6 and am not sure what I need to share in my post. So, please tell me if you need additional info: Avg speed = 11.97 Start = 6.69 End = 16.05 P-CAV (almost identical results on both drives) Disc Info: TYG03 (This is the same that I have always used). The problem is that after the first 20-30 minutes, the copied movie pauses, skips, etc.... What else can I do to diagnose this problem? What other information do you need? WinXP, 2.20 CPU, Pentium, 1 GB Ram..... Again, I am fairly confident the DVD disc are not the problem. Welcome your input....

Re: Need Help diagnosing Playback problem in dvd player... Atwnsw – To avoid any confusion visit SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) and download the latest current up to date versions of AnyDVD/ CloneDVD. Stating that you are using the so-called “Latest Versions” does not fully describe exactly what versions of AnyDVD/CloneDVD that you are actually using. Generally Skipping/Pausing playback viewing problems are caused by the use of poor quality blank DVD Media, old outdated DVD Firmware and/or a combination of both. Suggest viewing the below Web Link for detailed information concerning quality blank DVD Media. For quality error free results only use 1st Class Media. http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm Suggest viewing the below Web Link for information concerning the importance of using current up to date DVD Burner Firmware. http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,11...1/article.html Your version NEC ND-3550A v1.05 Firmware is old and outdated. Suggest visiting http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/3550/ and acquire the up to date current NEC ND-3550A v1.06 Firmware. If your are unaware of how to install NEC DVD Firmware review the “How To Flash” information contained in the above referenced Web Link. BeLooken

Re: Need Help diagnosing Playback problem in dvd player... Okay, so I upgraded the firmware to 1.06 which is the latest. In addition, I verified that I am using the best 1st class media available. Is there anything else that I can do other than shutting down all programs running in the background?
