MY COPY is JUMPY on PLAYBACK

I made a SL copy of DOMINO from a PX-712a to a px-740a,
i think i just took the movie and DTS soundtrack (not 100% sure)
anyway the playback on my home dvd player is very jumpy.

dvd burn was to a 8X memorex dvd-r.

I know it's not much information, thanks in advance.

another question...

when you make movies on DL RW +R disks is there a trick to copy over the disk for a new movie?

thanks for that one to.

Re: MY COPY is JUMPY on PLAYBACK

You answered yourself the question. Memorex belongs to the world of low quality media.
Also if you've problems with the sound just select ac3/6, at this point i don't know actually what for a home theater system you've. Your other question do you mean a +RW disc or double layer? If you mean double layer, there wouldn't be a trick. You can write on a DL disc only once.

Re: MY COPY is JUMPY on PLAYBACK

With quality media best would be to use the rated speed in some cases you can overspeed it and get still fine results. For media i'd recommend Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
Both media would give you an excellent result. Personally i'd go with TY 8x media burning at 8x and Verbatim 16x media burning at 12x, which could your rebadged BenQ 1640 handles very well.
And for the RW it makes many people confused it's just the logo, look only on the package for example DVD+R, -R, +RW etc.

@ kevinwoodward

Taiyo Yuden (TY) media is considered top of the line high quality media. Rima.Com (http://www.rima.com) is considered a reliable source of Taiyo Yuden (TY) media.

Concerning the use of RW (ReWritable) DVD Media in making backup copies of Commercial DVD Movie Titles. This type of media can be used but could quite possibly prove to be problematic and is not the preferred media to use. If you desire hassle error free backup copies of Commercial DVD Movie Titles stick to either single layer DVD±R top of the line high quality DVD media.

Because if you done a little reading in the forums first you may of noticed all the problems with memorex media which would of made you brain think ' maybe my problem is my memorex media ' like all others and saved you needing to post,

i in no way meant to offend anyone just going by the rules which would of solved your problem earlier.

If you are using +R DL media, it will also have printed on the disc RW, but underneath it will say +R DL (or something to that effect)

I am not sure if you can buy DL Rewritable media - I am sure I did see that there is a specification for it.
