| Re: error message The old threads are great, but here's my $.02: I was backing up a copy of The Harold Lloyd Collection Vol.1, Disc 2. The first disc worked fine. The second continued to have the CRC error at different points even after thorough cleaning. Tedious as it was, I ended up hitting "retry" over and over each time the error message came up (sometimes taking the disc out and reinserting), and eventually ended up being able to back up the whole disc. It took twice as long as normal, and exhausted my mouse-finger, but worked. |

| Re: error message @ stickintheeye, Welcome to the Forum. The information you provided in your above posting does not address the cause of your CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) error notification nor does it display to correct action to take when CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) error notifications are encountered. In your case it is obvious that your The Harold Lloyd Collection Vol.1, Disc 2 Commercial DVD Movie Title DVD contained numerous CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) errors. The CloneDVD software program was giving you obvious warnings that the particular The Harold Lloyd Collection Vol.1, Disc 2 Commercial DVD Movie Title DVD you were attempting to process contained numerous CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) errors which you unwisely chose to ignore. In short the particular copy of The Harold Lloyd Collection Vol.1, Disc 2 Commercial DVD Movie Title DVD you were attempting to process was damaged and/or defectively manufactured. The correct remedy in this case would be to return this particular DVD for replacement or a refund. It is not normal for a Commercial DVD Movie Title DVD to contain CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) errors and is an indication that the particular DVD is damaged and/or defectively manufactured. I believe if you viewed your backup copy under very close scrutiny you will find video errors in the finished copy. The goal of using CloneDVD is produce the best reliable high quality backup copy as possible. Ignoring the CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) error notifications is defeating this propose. Perhaps it would be prudent if you closely reviewed the two referenced links I provided in posting #2 in this thread. Best Regards, bjkg |
