DvDShrink Speed Issue

Hey all I know this probably isn't the right forum to post this under but not sure where it belongs so here ya go. Up until today I was ripping DVD's onto my computer with DVDShrink the program made 2 folders one called VIDEO_TS and one called AUDIO_TS. Now DVDShrink used to backup DVDs at 7,000 - 8,500 kb/sec but today it started ripping DVD's at 2,000kbps, usually averaging about 1,600 this made the process take 2 hours instead of 45min.

Now I found a post on here where a guy was having a similiar issue but nothing posted helped me the link to that forum is....http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=130063

Hopefully this issue has long since been fixed, any help is appreciated.
Thanks

That's not a very friendly greeting is it now.

@Krazyflipz

Welcome to CD Freaks. Sure you posted in the wrong forum but we'll get over it.

It's likely to be 1 of 2 things that's causing your problem.

1. DMA is not properly set on your reader or the HDD. Check this thread . Check all your IDE devices.

2. A severely fragmented HDD and/or shortage of free space could very easily impact on the ripping speed.

@ TimC (Moderator),

Since you have acknowledged that Forum Member Krazyflipz inadvertently made his initial posting in the incorrect Forum suggest that this posting be moved to the appropriate Copy DVD Movie Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=62).

@ Krazyflipz,

As Forum Member TimC suggests ensure that your DMA Mode is correctly set. The below Web Link provides detailed information on correctly setting your DMA Mode ->

http://www.onthegosoft.com/dma_setting_nt.htm

To defragment your Hard Drive -> Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Defragmenter.

Best Regards,
bjkg
