DVD DL plays on PC but not in standalone player - Club CDFreaks

Noob here. I'm using the latest and greatest versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2.

Successfully burned "The Wild". On standalone Sammy DVD player, I get the opening WDW welcome screen and then nothing....black screen and 0000 on my counter. Won't even start in my Panny Player. Plays like a champ in my PC.

UPDATE: Using the same exact setup, I was able to successfully back up "Cars". Back Up DVD plays as it should in all PC's and standalone players. Not sure why "The Wild" won't.

When you burned with CloneDVD did you set the burn option to dvd+9 or dvd+5?

Suggest reviewing the AnyDVD Forum Read First posting titled “New posters with ripping/burning problems” (http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=182650) and note the pertinent information that Forum Members need to know to be able to provide meaningful assistance to Members requesting assistance.

It should be noted at this date/time Verbatim MKM0001/MKM003 Mitsubishi Kagaku Media is the only DL media that consistently provides quality error free results.

I don't have an option for DVD+9 or DVD+5, only DVD-5. A lot of my DVD copies don't play smoothly, even freezing while playing.

If you are using CloneDVD2 version 2.9.0.1 you do in fact have the option to select DVD-5 or DVD+-R DL “Target Size”.

Suggest reviewing the AnyDVD-CloneDVD User Tutorial for information on how to select Target Size (DVD-5 / DVD+-R DL)->

Usually Freezing and similar problems during playback viewing is cause by the use of Poor Quality Blank DVD Media an/or old out of dated obsolete DVD Burner Firmware or a combination of both.

Using a utility software program similar to DVD Identifier (http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com) or DVDInfo (http://www.dvdinfopro.com) to obtain the MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) of your blank DVD Media and Manufacture/Model/Firmware of your DVD Burner post this information and Forum Members will review and advise.
