Re: Dvd Copy Help

@ Foxhound2,

Welcome to the CD Freaks Forum.

From the limited amount of information you provided in your initial posting it will be difficult for a Forum Member to provide any assistance. You are going to need to provide some basic information. Below is the basic information need for Forum Members to be able to help you.

What is the name of the DVD that you are making a back up copy of?

What is the version number of the CloneDVD software program that you are you using?

What is the name of the software program and version number that you are using to remove the copy protection from the original DVD?

What is the Manufacturer ID and Media Code of the blank DVD media you are you using?

What is the Brand/Model number of your DVD Burner?

What is the Brand/Model number of the DVD playback device that are you using.

Please explain in detail exactly what you mean when you state “The DVD Crashes”.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Re: Dvd Copy Help

Foxhound2,
Make sure you have the latest firmware for your Sony DRU 710A.
New media is introduced all the time and you need to update the firmware yo keep pace as well as correct any bugs the unit may have had in earlier versions.

The Sony DRU-710A is made by Liteon, it"s equivalent to the 1633-S Liteon.
The latest stock frimware for your drive is BYX4, when you open CloneDVD2 it will display your firmware version. Try updating the firmware if not up to date and slowing the burn to 4x to see if that corrects your problem.

Please read up on upgrading your firmware before you do anything, it is critical you know what your doing and don't load the wrong firmware. It's very easy to do but educate yourself before attempting.

Link for the BYX4 Firmware

You can read about your burner and firmware instructions here

Re: Dvd Copy Help

@ Foxhound2,

Request you visit SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) and download the latest versions of AnyDVD- CloneDVD available from SlySoft.

After installing the latest versions of AnyDVD-CloneDVD from the SlySoft try again and see if your problem still exists.

Also as requested in my initial posting in this thread provide the Manufacturer ID and Media Code (Example:RitekG05) of the blank DVD media you are you using. Stating you are using verbatim single layer media does not fully describe the actual DVD Media you are using. Verbatim does not manufacture their own DVD Media. They purchase DVD Media from a DVD Media manufacture and put in Verbatim labeled boxes. Suggest using a utility soft ware program similar to DVDInfo (http://www.dvdinfopro.com) to obtain the Manufacturer ID and Media Code (Example:RitekG05) of the blank DVD media you are you using.

Your problem could be related to the particular blank DVD Media you are using and that why it is important to establish exactly what blank DVD Media you are using.

Also as requested in my initial posting in this thread provide the Name and Model of your DVD playback device that you are using when this “DVD Crashes” problem happens.

Best Regards,
bjkg
