DVD Burner?

I don't know what kind of burner I have. It came with my computer. My computer is a Windows XP (if that does you any good). Now for my question. I went out the other day and bought some blank DVD-R's for *cough* backing up some of my DVD's. Then it got me thinking, do I need a special burner to burn DVD's? I know my writing drive can burn audio CD's and read DVD's, so will this work for recording them?

Re: DVD Burner?

look in device manager under DVD/CD Drives and see what windows says your drive is.

Download from this site a simple tool, Nero InfoTool, that will tell you exactly what your drive is capable of (reading, writing, etc.): www.cdspeed2000.com
