| Re: Directory removal Do you mean the directory stucture on the backup disk? If you tell us why you want to do that (your goal) or what problems the directory structures are creating for you, you will probably get a more informed answer from one of us. If you mean the directory structures on the backup disk, they are necessary for the player to play the movie. If you mean the temp files CloneDVD creates on the HDD during the backup, check-"on" the "Delete backup files after..." feature. I think it's on the last page of CloneDVD that has the "GO" to burn button. For the files already on your computer, just go to the CloneDVD designated folder that holds them and delete them manually. Best regards, Whisperer It would be appreciated if you didn't double post. http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....93#post1218906 Last edited by Whisperer1; 27-12-2005 at 00:56. |

| Re: Directory removal i'm still confused, and if I were you I'd try restarting my computer...that's always the first thing I do when I start getting weird problems. that way none of the programs the *might* be accessing the directories and therefore preventing deletion will be open. i once had a problem where a folder changed permissions by itself (or so I think haha). check permissions on the folder if you still can't delete it...although when that is the problem you usually get an "access denied" message as opposed to "cannot read from source file" |

| Re: Directory removal sns476, Just a thought... Are you logged on as an Administrator? Do you have the Windows "authority" to delete files or folders? Create a simple text (.txt) or other type of file, and try to delete it. And check out the "...permissions on the folder..." thing that reasonsnotrules mentioned. Only system files are undeletable. If you can't delete the files, try to delete the whole folder and then recreate another empty folder, with exactly the same name, at the end of the same path. If those things don't solve you, please (if you know how to do this) post the complete path to the folder that contains these directory headings. I'm wondering if your "empty directories titled after the movies" may just be a CloneDVD text history log of some sort. Don't mean to be condescending if you are indeed knowledgeable about Windows. | Re: Directory removal There is a tool called something like "unlocker" or similar, google for it. It may help you "unlocking" your folders. Or maybe start windows in safe mode to delete the folders...I am not sure if I understood your problem right, though.
