Re: Deleting file name in dropdown box

i still have 3 files in that dropdown box but no folders left on the hdd cuase i delete them...not sure if there is a reason why clonedvd2 keeps them for.
I think that this thread is talking about the same box.

I am talking about when you choose to burn a file from a folder on your hard drive. The dropdown box still keeps the name of the file, even though you have deleted it. I beleive its called a " negligable object " these should be able to be cleared somehow, I just want to know how.

oh on the 2nd page. i think it's like anydvd's css key page. incase you want to make another copy. don't think you can get rid of any of it.

there's nothing to make a copy of...the files have been deleted. and it can't be like anydvd's CSS archive since all clonedvd does is transcode and burn...there's no info to store.

it's more equivalent to the "recently used files" list under the file menu in certain programs...except these files no longer exist...so it's annoying to keep them hanging around...

Re: Deleting file name in dropdown box

also, for the record, it's sad that the aoftware works so well that we've resorted to starting threads about completely non-functional things about the program that bother us haha.

i agree it would be *nice* if these things were looked into, but on the whole, who really cares? haha. We should count ourselves lucky to be using such a well supported and maintained program that the only thing we HAVE to complain about are these minor annoyances

Re: Deleting file name in dropdown box

you're talking about clonedvd's own temp file it deletes afterwards. not the file you made of the dvd beforehand. maybe i'm not wording this right...?

Re: Deleting file name in dropdown box

we're not talking about files at all...they no longer exist, but the name remains in the drop down box under "write existing data" options (or at least this is what i'm talking about)

for example, even after you delete the folder or the ISO, that title will still remain in the drop down box even though the file (aka the movie) no longer exists on the hard drive

Re: Deleting file name in dropdown box

It's probably in the CloneDVD registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

bingo

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Elaborate Bytes\CloneDvd2

i deleted anything that had a value of a movie title. i didn't pay attention to which keys I deleted though.

you could modify the values in each key to get rid of the titles that you've deleted, but that seems like too much work.

whatever I did worked. now i have nothing in those drop down lists haha

automatic synching up would still be nice. i'm getting greedy now

Probably for convenience, if you want to make more copies. I noticed that the oldest entries are deleted automatically if the list gets filled up.

How many constitutes full? The reason I don't like it, that I am not the only one that uses this program in my house and its nobodys business what I am backing up.

*hiding your porn backups? *

if that's the case then you can delete them in the registry in the location I posted above.
