| Dcmts Being a newbe I would like to know the meaning of dcmts. In CloneDVD I noticed chapters almost identical to the ones without dcmts but what do I need to select from this 7+GB DVD when copying it with maximum quality, minimum extra's, only menus). dcmts = see chapter 2,3 and 5 and 11 TIA 01 40:34 8 AC 3/ 6 EN AC 3/6 FR , AC 3 /6 DE 02 0:00 1 AC 3/ 6 EN AC 3/6 FR , AC 3 /6 DE ,AC 3/ 1 EN (dcmts . 1) 03 40:35 14 AC 3/ 6 EN AC 3/6 FR , AC 3 /6 DE ,AC 3/ 1 EN (dcmts . 1) <== 04 38:38 8 AC 3/ 6 EN AC 3/6 FR , AC 3 /6 DE 05 38:39 10 AC 3/ 6 EN AC 3/6 FR , AC 3 /6 DE ,AC 3/ 1 EN (dcmts . 1) <== 06 2:18 3 AC 3/ 1 EN (dcmts . 1) 07 0:23 3 AC 3/ 1 EN (dcmts . 1) 08 2:00 3 AC 3/ 1 EN (dcmts . 1) 09 1:08 3 AC 3/ 1 EN (dcmts . 1) 10 41:40 10 AC 3/ 6 EN AC 3/6 FR , AC 3 /6 DE 11 40:57 9 AC 3/ 6 EN AC 3/6 FR , AC 3 /6 DE ,AC 3/ 1 EN (dcmts . 1) <== 12 0:00 1 no audio 13 0:00 1 no audio 14 0:04 5 AC 3/ 2 -- 15 0:24 9 AC 3/ 2 -- 16 0:13 2 AC 3/ 2 -- |

| Re: Dcmts When importing a DVD (e.g. fm HD), select copy titles, next, select the folder where .vob-files on the HD are located, I get a list of chapters, playingtime etc. CloneDVD-dcmts.jpg At some chapters 'dcmts.1' is mentioned. Just wonder what it means. Reason for asking is that I want to skip all the 'extras' and just get the movie (episodes) so they fit on the DVD5. == |

Regret, DL is not an option. It requires a DL writer (need to buy it and I will only on a very rare occassion) and my DVD-player in the living room doesnot read DL's... Normally I split the film using DVDFab (DVD9-2x DVD5). This DVD consisting of extras, episodes, promotional films.. one way or the other, the splitted DVD5's did not load. This is the one and only time I encountered this problem. That aside I use DVD+RW's only, which is really going fine. There are no RW-versions of DL's as far as I know. Anyway, I used CloneDVD2 now and skipped promotional stuff, languanges and subtitles, and extra's and the rest has been shrunk ot 72% and fit on a DVD5. It seems to work now. =

| Re: Dcmts i see this is 2 weeks old but... no need to use DL media if the content you want to burn fits onto a DVD-5! i used to do this lots before i got a dl burner...movie's at 90% compression w/o extras, special features, etc i'm assuming you figured out dcmts was the director's comments but if you're not sure about that sorta stuff just use PowerDVD to watch the movie on your PC and figure out which titles/audio tracks you want to keep. http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=5033 see paragraph 3 another option for "splitting" the DVD-9 onto two DVD-5's is to use the preserve menu function and then select half the episodes to go on the first disc and half to go on the second. i always preserve menu copy DVD titles (top button on cloneDVD) defaults to not preserve clone DVD (middle button) defaults to preserve Quote:
if so perhaps those DL's you tried weren't booktyped to dvd-rom...?

| Re: Dcmts Thank you for the feedback. See attachment for details of the DVD. There are 4 episodes on 1 DVD. For me it is a bit difficult/confusing to sort out which titles I need to tag and which not. There are also some promotional recordings on the DVD of other movies... That stuff I did not want. One way or the other (regretfully I forgot) I managed to burn a DVD5 without this promotional stuff. = |

| Re: Dcmts @mrwul it really appears that there are 3 espisodes (titles 1, 4, 10) and 3 of the same episodes w/ director's comments (titles 3, 5, 11). obviously you can play this in a standalone DVD player and figure this out. you can also use the preview window that's in cloneDVD to see each title. (just highlight a title and press the play button) no audio plays though so that why using powerDVD (as mentioned before) is the best for figuring out what's on each title...aswell as what on each audio track. so assuming there are 3 episodes and 3 director's comments... i would burn one DVD-5 with titles 1, 4, 10 selected (preserve menu) and burn on DVD-5 with titles 3, 5, 11 (preserve menu) this is all just a guess though...you really need to find out whats on each title using one of the previously mentioned methods |
