Cyclic Redundancy error?

A couple days ago I copied a DVD. Now I'm trying to copy the copied dvd, and it keeps coming up with a window that says something like "cyclic redundancy error". Is there anything I can do to make this work? I have CloneDVD Version 2, and AnyDVD (If that helps)

Re: Cyclic Redundancy error?

@ rmmclure,

Welcome to the Forum.

The Cyclic Redundancy Check error (CRC) you are receiving means that there is an Error/Defect on the DVD you are attempting to copy. This error is usually caused by the use of poor quality blank DVD Media that the DVD was recorded on.

Just because a DVD “Appears” to play properly doe not mean that it doesn’t contain Errors.

Suggest obtaining known proven high quality DVD Media. In many circles Taiyo Yuden Media is considered top of the line high quality Media. Rima.Com (http://rima.com) is a reliable source of Taiyo Yuden Media. Locally FujiFilm or Sony Media is good reliable Media if the package clearly states Made In Japan and avoid (do not purchase) FujiFilm or Sony Media if manufactured in any other country other than Japan because to quality is unknown and considered suspect.

The CloneDVD software program is specifically designed to produce quality backup copies of Commercial DVD Movie Titles. Other that doing some trickery and screwing around there is no easy way to make copy of a defective error ridden DVD.

Also it appears that a fellow Forum Member dunross2b also recently had a similar problem.

Re: Cyclic Redundancy error?

Thanks. Do you know of any other way to copy it? I tried using isobuster to get the data off, but it didn't work.
