Copy-protected DVD movies (newbie)

Okay,

Clone DVD2 refuses to copy/clone the DVD movies I got because they are copy-protected. I thought Clone DVD2 would bypass the protection or copy the whole thing, protection and all. What a letdown.
Anyway, what are my options now? Most other software claims they can "back up" or "copy" but I'm thinking now probably none of them can bypass a copy protected DVD. Is there a software that can do this?

P.S. The copy-protected DVDs section seems to be heavily focused on hardware solutions, so I thought I'd come here first.

Re: Copy-protected DVD movies (newbie)

You had the right idea when you first downloaded CloneDVD2 + AnyDVD (both Demos).

CloneDVD2 makes perfect backup copies of your unprotected movie DVDs

AnyDVD is a Windows-based driver that works automatically in the background to unprotect encrypted movie DVDs.

Download and try again

Re: Copy-protected DVD movies (newbie)

@ Glenn Gould,

You need to acquire a copy of AnyDVD from SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) which when used in conjunction with CloneDVD will remove the copy protection scheme contained on all Commercial DVD Movie Titles.

Also suggest reviewing the below AnyDVD-CloneDVD user tutorial, which provides detailed information on the use of the AnyDVD-CloneDVD software combination.
