| Commentary only on copies I have made complete copies of both "The Hills Have Eyes" and "The Sentinel", But the movies will play only with the commentary. I am using the latest updates of CloneDVD ver. 2.9.0.1, and AnyDVD ver. 6.0.5.1. I used the Slysoft "contact form", to ask them about this problem, 5 days ago. No answer from them, yet; Though their web site states "they will respond within 48 hours". Have been using CloneDVD and AnyDVD for about 3 months, and they were working fine, until this. |

| Re: Commentary only on copies be sure that you inclue the main movie audio track and not the director's commentary on the page where you choose your audio stream preferences. if you're unsure about which is which then include them all so you can cycle through them with the "audio" button on your dvd player's remote control. for more information in determining what audio tracks are what do a forum search within the clonedvd forum for "director's commentary" this is a very common question that has been addressed many times. you should be able to find plenty of detailed instructions for how to determine if you have selected the correct audio track. good luck ![]()

| Re: Commentary only on copies The original DVDs work fine. I used the CloneDVD2 option "clone dvd including all titles and menus", and as the copied DVD's would play only with the commentary, I copied the originals a second time, to insure that I hadn't accidently deleted a audio file. While playing the copies, I have went to the "Special Freatures" and clicked off the commentary, but movie would still ony play with the commentary. Thanks for your reply |

| Re: Commentary only on copies what audio streams did you select to include on your backup? if you've selected them all, have you tried using the menu to select the correct main movie audio track during playback? alternatively, have you tried using the "audio" button on your dvd remote control to cycle through the available audio selections? we don't understand what you mean by "only plays with commentary" unless you answer these questions... are you saying you just put the dvd in and it plays with commentary or are you saying that you've tried to select different audio tracks and none are available except the commentary?

And as far as selecting only certain audio streams, there was only one option with a check mark, so there wasn't any real choice in the matter. I think this is a manufacturer's trick to make it more difficult to copy their movies. Hopefully, the makers of CloneDVD will find a way to defeat it soon.

| Re: Commentary only on copies This is way simpler than you are making it. If you selected all audio tracks in CloneDVD then those tracks are on the backup. You may have to use your DVD player's remote control to go to the DVD's menu and choose Dolby Digital or English or DTS or bloody French if you want. Leave the Director's Commentary selection choice alone. Or just repeatedly press the Audio button on the remote control to cycle through all the audio tracks till you get the track you want to play. If you deselected any audio tracks in CloneDVD, then you deselected the wrong one(s) and no matter what you do, it's not on the backup of your movie and won't play ... because you deselected it in CloneDVD when you made the backup. You have to make another backup and choose the movie soundtrack you want or select them all. Quote:

) ... disagree). But ... if you don't want the want the director's commentary sound track on your backup, then don't select it when you are making your CloneDVD backups.Quote:
in that case ... ... Just make another CloneDVD backup and choose the correct movie soundtrack this time instead of the director's commentary. Or just choose all soundtracks and you can't miss. Best regards, Whisperer Last edited by Whisperer1; 23-09-2006 at 08:38.

| Re: Commentary only on copies Liquidmagic, cdbender's last posting was over a week ago. Liquidmagic is now the current poster. If cdbender's ever did receive an email back from support, it was to tell him that he is either using CloneDVD's audio track selection feature incorrectly or doesn't know how to use his standalone DVD player's audio selection features correctly. He probably realized how routine and simple his mistakes were and was shy about coming back and posting that he found out how to do it right. Whisperer |

| Re: Commentary only on copies As other knowledgeable posters have state there has never been a Commercial DVD Movie released that ONLY contains the Directors Commentary Audio Track/Stream. The only definitive way to positively identify the various Audio Track Streams contained on any particular Commercial DVD Movie is to actually sample/listen to the particular Audio Track Streams. The below CD Freaks explains in detail how to sample/listen/identify the Audio Track Streams contained on Commercial DVD Movies and select the correct Audio Track Streams in the CloneDVD software program. http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=139157 BeLooken |
