CloneDVD2 Hangs... - Club CDFreaks

Good day,

I wonder if anybody could help me.

I have AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 installed on my laptop and I have downloaded the latest version of both these program (Registered Copies).

Each time I'm trying to copy a DVD (ISO file, DVD files or directly to disc) CloneDVD2 will run up to 99% (13 seconds remaining) then it will hang and also cause my laptop to hang. I can't close CloneDVD2 or shutdown my laptop. I need to manually press the "off" button till the laptop switches off, before I can do anything.

I first thought it was my DVD writer, but if I use Alchol120, I'm able to create a image file and then use CloneDVD2 to make an ISO file (shrinked) from this image and then burn it to disc. This however is taking like forever to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

Please use the CloneDVD authors support. Should be the best way.

I assume you are using DVD-R media? What DVD-Writer model are us using?
Please try this updated version of WriteDVD.dll (unpack it and copy it to the CloneDVD2 & CloneCD program directories):

I'm running CloneDVD2 ver 2.8.9.9 and AyDVD ver 6.0.1.1.

My dvd writer is a Philips DVD +-RW SDVD8431 writer and my laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M7440.

I have successfully made about 2 images (iso files) in about 30 attempts. Even if I try copy a dvd directly to disc, the program will hang on 98%, this is while it is trying to create the image file, before it actually starts to burn the disc.

The same goes for when I'm trying to create the dvd files on the HDD.

I now need to use Alchol120, to make an image of the dvd (+-8gig), then mount the image as a virtual drive, then only can I use CloneDVD2 to shrink and create the iso file.

Now I understand. The WriteDVD.dll will not help at all, because the writing itself doesn't seem to be the problem.
My guess is a hardware problem (bad cooling?) or a software that interferes (Virus scanner, etc.).
