CloneDVD2 Error - WriteDVD 11 5 W2 I've been using DVDxCopy Platinum successfully for almost all of my DVD backups - over 100 to date. However, I got "encrypted data" error reading StarTrek Voyager Season 4 Disk 7. I tried both Platinum and Xpress, tried cleaning the DVD, defragmenting my hard drive - nothing helped. I decided to try CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD. After downloading and installing them (the trial versions), CloneDVD2 read the DVD without any problem. But when it went to write the DVD, my DVD burner drive light came for a moment but then I got an error message: WriteDVD 11 5 W2. I decided to retry Platinum to see if it would work with AnyDVD and it worked! I like the CloneDVD2 interface, its flexibility, and the fact that it's supported. So please help me get the write problem fixed. Nothing was written on the DVD-R - I reused the same DVD-R disk for Platinum which burned the DVD successfully. I tried both "maximum" and "4x" write speeds. I always use Memorex 4x DVD-R media and I've never burned a coaster. Here's some excerpts from the large log file when I had "maximum" selected: I 09:44:33 Processing started D CloneDVDVersion: 2.4.5.4 D Location of layer break failed I 09:44:33 Unable to locate layer break D TCEngineConfig: D inputPath: E:/VIDEO_TS D outputPath: C:/CloneDVDTemp/VIDEO_TS D replacementVOBsPath: C:\Program Files\Elaborate Bytes\CloneDVD2\eraser ---------------- snip --------------------------------------- I 10:02:50 Processing stopped: finished I 10:02:50 Writing started D CloneDVDVersion: 2.4.5.4 I 10:02:50 Writer: TDK DVDRW0404N (rev. 1.05) I 10:02:50 Speed: maximum D DVDWriterInput: D type: Formatter D imageFile: D UDF::Files: D UDF::File: D name: VIDEO_TS.IFO D range: 0 to 9 D UDF::File: D name: VIDEO_TS.VOB D range: 9 to 224 D UDF::File: D name: VIDEO_TS.BUP D range: 224 to 233 -------------------------- snip ------------------------ D UDF::File: D name: VTS_06_0.BUP D range: 2287636 to 2287643 D UDF::Replacements: D UDF::Replacement: D name: VIDEO_TS.IFO D data.size(): 18432 ------------------- snip ------------------------------ D name: VTS_06_0.IFO D data.size(): 14336 D UDF::Replacement: D name: VTS_06_0.BUP D data.size(): 14336 D DVDFormatterConfig: D path: C:/CloneDVDTemp/VIDEO_TS D FormatterConfig: D applicationId: ELBY CLONEDVD D providerId: D volumeId: VOYAGER_S4D7 D systemId: D joliet: 0 D DVDWriterConfig: D drive: 5 D speed: 0 D overwrite: 0 D bufferSize: 32 D minReserve: 16 D blocksAtOnce: 128 E 10:03:06 Writing stopped: unexpected error D Error details: WriteDVD 11 5 W2

Re: CloneDVD2 Error - WriteDVD 11 5 W2 I tried 2 more DVD backups - Hidalgo and Shadowlands. In both cases, CloneDVD2 returned a slightly different error: WriteDVD 10 5 W2. Platinum (with AnyDVD installed) successfully backed up both of them. In the case of Shadowlands, I used the Burner drive to read the original DVD, which it did successfully. (In the other cases, I used a separate DVD-ROM drive to read the DVD.) CloneDVD2 never seems to start writing a DVD-R. (BTW, based on information in another thread, I made sure I selected DVD-5 and 4x.) I probably have some kind of conflict. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: CloneDVD2 Error - WriteDVD 11 5 W2 I am having the same problem. I was using DVD x COPY Plat. and came across Any dvd and CloneDVD2. Using Clone I was backing up without a problem using Verbatim AZO Metal DVD-R's. I updated versions to ANYDVD 4.5.5.1 and CLONEDVD2 to 2.6.2.3. Ever since then I can't burn a single DVD. It reads fine but when it goes to burn it gives me: Write DVD 10 11 w2. Media write error. Some discs I am able to reuse in DVDXCOPY and some I am not. (it usually writes for < 30 seconds). After firmware update, uninstalling and reinstalling the programs and defraging drive still no luck. I uninstalled and did a re-install of Clonedvd2 2.7.1.1 and anydvd 4.5.7.2 and still no luck. I currently burn no coasters with DVDXCOPY. I've had to go back to it because I can't get Clone to work. I want despirately to purchase these two programs but I need to get it to work first. I have 4 days left on my trial. (Any chance tings would iprove if I just bought the program?) These has been going on now for 8 days and I can't figure it out. I have searched the forums for days and I can't come up with a solution. Burner: Lite-On DVDRW LDW 815s Firmware GSOP. I select DVD-5 and 4x speed when burning. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Start regedit and navigate here: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}] The first value (Default) must be DVD/CD-Rom drives, CLASS CDROM. Delete the Value LowerFilters. Delete the Value UpperFilters. Reinstall CloneDVD & AnyDVD. Good Luck!

Re: CloneDVD2 Error - WriteDVD 11 5 W2 Windows XP Pro SP2 all updates CloneDVD2 Version 2.8.2.1: 2005 04 22 I get this error also. The media is good. I have only 1 DVD drive Pioneer DVR 109 firmware updated this week. If I try and do a clone from DVD to DVD the software puts the files in a temporary folder and at write time they are there but the error message comes up. Closing CloneDVD2 and the temp files are deleted. If I clone to the hard drive then clone from the hard drive to the DVD in a two step process all is ok. Any ideas. This seems to be after a recent update.
