Hello everybody!

The lest 3 days i have a writing problem....
The title of the post is [ CloneDVD error "writeDVD 10 11 w2"] but i think i have a general problem....

I can't write in Phillips DVD+R!!!!!!

I've write Verbatim dvd-r, Traxdata DVD-R with both of dvd-writers and everything is alright....

Yes, it can be a media problem. I have a Toshiba sd-r5272 and had almost the same problem, but with a different media: TDK DVD-R 8x. I updated the firmware of the drive, but still the content was more than bad. Then I tried other media and it turned out that it works, but with TDK DVD-R 8x.

Anyway, please check with DVDIdentifier who is the real manufacturer of Philips media.
You can download this freeware software here: http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

Re: CloneDVD error "writeDVD 10 11 w2"

I check it the Phillips media....
Here the results...:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+R:CMC MAG-E01-000]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R] - [DVD+R]
Manufacturer Name : [CMC Magnetics Corp.]
Manufacturer ID : [CMC MAG]
Media Type ID : [E01]
Product Revision : [Not Specified]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,295,104 Sectors = 4,482.6MB = 4.38GB (4.70GB)]
Recording Speeds : [1x , 2.4x , 4x , 6x-8x]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ DVD Identifier - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

By the way, thanks Alex thyl... and i think 2 how is the media problem....because all the others media is ok, and the Phillips they can't write both of dvd-writers (Plextor & Toshida...)
ps.: I've send the Plextor yesterday in Belgium for check besause i think its a Plextor problem.... lol lol

Re: CloneDVD error "writeDVD 10 11 w2"

I think it is a question of time when we all face a media related problem. I have never had a single coaster for a long time with both my burners, untill I used the TDK 8x in question. Some say it is a fault of the burner's firmware. Well... Opinions may differ. If a burner can not handle a certain media, but works perfectly with others, then who knows whether a burner or the media can be blamed. I think the latter, but it is my biased personal view.

And by the way, there is an ongoing debate in one of the threads in CDF (if my memory does not fail me) about CMC media (the real manufacturer of your Philips). As usually some say that according to their view it is a crap, some say they have no problems with it at all.

@ yarismania,

Suggest lowering your burning speed and terminating all background operations especially Anti-Virus programs when burning DVDs. Also suggest checking for any SpyWare that might be inadvertently installed on your computer by using a program similar to Spybot Search & Destroy(http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html). You might be surprised to find what SpyWare has been installed on your computer. Also suggest performing minor Hard Disk maintenance by running your Disk Defragmenter (Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Defragmenter).

Best Regards,
bjkg

Re: CloneDVD error "writeDVD 10 11 w2"

Try to lower the burn speed to the rated speed of the media you are using. If you set it to "max" you will get this error and waste lots of blank DVDs. For some reason in your case CloneDVD ignores the drives parameters for the specific media you are using and tries to overspeed it giving you this failure and error.

Hope this helps!

CloneDVD cannot overspeed your drive, the firmware determines the maximum speed the media can burn at, unless your firmware does not include the specific media you are trying to burn. Clonedvd can instruct to burn slower than the medias capability, but not faster.
That's why it's wise to keep the firmware updated, new media wil be recognized.
