CloneDVD and bitsetting

I have just successfully patched my NEC ND 1300 with firmware which enables bitsetting feature. In short dvd+r disc should be written as dvd-rom book by default. That's what dvd info pro program says anyway. This feature is of interest to me because my stand alone player refuses to play dvd+r book discs. Burning with CloneDVD was not sucssesfull because it seems that CloneDvd changed the book type back to dvd+r. If I havent done anything wrong I would like to see that option in new version?

I don't think so. CloneDVD does not touch the bitsettings at all. Haven't used the NEC, but RICOH/Philips drives keep their DVD-ROM bitsettings when used with CloneDVD.

Actually, someone in the Alcohol forums responded with this same problem when they burned with Alcohol. I think the problem is that the NEC tool is still "unofficial" and thus isn't fully compatible with everything.

I have put some posts correcting my statement in previous thread. CloneDvd didn't change bitsetting. Only DVDINFO Pro showed so, but only in NEC drive. When I have changed the drive it showed a different thing. The disc wouldn't play because of media problem (TDK vith Ricoh media). Interesting enough I have tryed other brand (and they are at the moment cheapest you can find here) and they play with flying color.
