CloneDVD Discuss, Can Clone make copies from a copy? at Copy Movie forum; If I put in a DVD that has no copy guard will Clone make me another backup? Would I need to shut off AnyDVD ? Thanks.

Can Clone make copies from a copy?

If I put in a DVD that has no copy guard will Clone make me another backup? Would I need to shut off AnyDVD? Thanks.

Yes. Fastest way is to use the third button "write existing data". It is even possible "on the fly" if you like (assuming it is a DVD5 source, e.g. a DVD-R, and you don't want to modify anything).

If the copy is made "correctly" you do not need to shut down AnyDVD. In case you have problems, you can disable it for the moment (fox will become grey).

You need to shut down AnyDVD. I tested this a few weeks ago and AnyDVD would not allow the disc to be read.

This *can* happen, if:
1.) The copy has been "bitsetted" to DVD-ROM
2.) The firmware of the drive used for reading has a bug and reports the disc as copy protected.

Gents,

I've used CloneDVD to copy a copy on a few DVDs with no issue. It's really quick as no compression is required. For even faster results I now use Alcohol 120% to copy these disks.
