Burning issues

Hello everyone:

Could really use your help on this.

I have AnyDVD and Clone DVD and Liteon burner 1693S.

It reads the DVD ok but when it goes to burn it sometimes it burns to 70 or 80 percent and sometimes just 1 percent and stops. I have downloaded all updates for these items but did not seem to help any. I am using Maxell 16x -r discs and also HP sometimes. I thought at first it was the discs but have gone thru a great many and tried both the HP and the Maxell so not sure it is the DVDs. I would greatly appreciate any help you could offer me. Thank you.

Re: Burning issues

Hello,

Did you update the firmware of the drive as well? Which version are you using? Maybe you can try a burn with Nero and save the Error Log if any (remove your serial no. before posting).

Re: Burning issues

Just confirming that the latest firmware for your drive is KS0B. You can also try KC4B from Codeguys if you can't get it to work with the official Lite-On f/w.

Posting a Nero Error Log would be very helpful in diagnosing your problem.

Re: Burning issues

Have you checked to make sure your buffer isn't dropping off or other programs running that is affecting the burn process. Is your antivirus program conflicting with the process? Have you tried verbatium media-you should try a few different media to see what works best for you drive. Check your DMA and PIO settings. Make sure you have enough RAM to use for other computer mutitasking if that what your doing when your burning. I have to admit you posting limit errors problem rather be more specific of on the errors would help forum users help you identify your problems.

What versions? On this forum please always name the version #'s of both programs: required information.

Also, what Movie is it? Please always name the movie you are backing up when you ask a question.

This is most likely your problem. Suggest dumping both those media and using Verbatim (store shelves) or Taiyo Yuden (internet order)

If you are current on both programs, and using better media doesn't resolve your problem, consider that your burner may have burned-out.

bilbo65 is correct. Please never say "latest versions" on cdf, because, a thousand times in the past, posters have assumed they had the "latest", were wrong about their current version, and updating resolved the issue. Which makes many members hesitant (or even ignore a question) about providing a solution which might help you.

Also what media? What burner? etc. See what I mean(?) ... how can anyone help you? No dis intended.

Best regards,
Whisperer
