Re: Burned DVD's play on my computer, but not in any other DVD player...HELP!!! ILLsKiLlZ, It is not unusual that a bad backup will play on your system but not your player. Backups almost always play from the drive they were made on. So that is not a valid test. Suspect your problem is your choice of blank media but need to know more info: 1. What media brand and type are you using. Please don't tell us it's Memorex! 2. Also exactly what version numbers of CloneDVD and AnyDVD are you using (please always state this in future threads you create here on cdf, "the newest versions of... doesn't help us diagnose your problem)? 3. What DVD Writer drive brand, model and firware version are you using? (Put an original movie disk into your ripper and open CloneDVD; the last page, the one that has the "GO to burn" button, will give you a readout, on the right hand side of the page, of the model and firmware version#) 4. What is the model# of your stand alone JVC DVD 3-Disk Changer? BTW: JVC's (all models) like -R better than +R no matter what the player specs state. So if you are burning +R, booktype it for JVC Player(s) compatibility. Best regards, Whisperer Last edited by Whisperer1; 14-12-2005 at 20:21.

Re: Burned DVD's play on my computer, but not in any other DVD player...HELP!!! Whisperer, ok ok ok ok, i prolly should have figured to put in some specs and such, 1.) haha, yeah its memorex (dvd-r 16x 4.7gb 120 min), theyve always worked best for me as far as cd recording goes. Whats a better brand? 2.) AnyDVD 5.6.3.1 CloneDVD2 2.8.5.1 (both elby) 3.) TssT corp CD/DVD W TS-H542A (rev. TS01) driver version is provided by microsoft ver. 5.1.2535.0 4.) JVC 3 DISC CD/DVD PLAYER model#XV-M555 p.s. thanks a lot for the reply! that was speedy!!

| Re: Burned DVD's play on my computer, but not in any other DVD player...HELP!!! Memorex was your first mistake, also advise you to update your firmware on your Samsung drive to TS03. Update your firmware, use better media, check to see if the Samsung does support bitsetting. That should solve your problem unless you are burning R\W media and your JVC stand alone is not capable of reading rewriteable disks. | Re: Burned DVD's play on my computer, but not in any other DVD player...HELP!!! Better media? Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or maybe some Ricoh. I think really this is only a media problem, your burner is a samsung and i'm not really sure if your model supports bitsetting, in nero you can find a option under choose recorder for changin booktype, but if not use instead quality -R media.

Re: Burned DVD's play on my computer, but not in any other DVD player...HELP!!! Dump the Memorex. They switch manufacturers more often than you brush your teeth and so quality varies from stack to stack. And even if "...theyve always worked best for me... ", they will rot and fail a year from now. Try Sony -R (1x-8x) since they are available in most local electronic stores. JVC's love Sony -R. Set the burn speed, in CloneDVD, to burn at 4x. You may not need to do anything other than that to fix your player compatibility problem. Best regards, Whisperer Gotta go to work now, others will help if, after you get back from the store, you are still having problems. PS: You have nice equiptment, by the way. So that is not your problem.

Re: Burned DVD's play on my computer, but not in any other DVD player...HELP!!! @ ILLsKiLlZ, Never heard of Taiyo Yuden media? It’s probably the best media that is available. Rima.Com (http://www.rima.com) sells Taiyo Yuden media at very reasonable prices. Locally Taiyo Yuden media is available under the FujiFilm brand if the package clearly states Made In Japan. Avoid purchasing FujiFilm media if the package states manufactured in any other country other than Made In Japan. Best Regards, bjkg

Re: Burned DVD's play on my computer, but not in any other DVD player...HELP!!! I prefer Verbatim whether it is CD-R, or DVD-R or DVD+R DL. Never given me a problem. Tried cheap DVD+R DL's when they first came out and wasted $30 in less then 30 minutes..wont buy anything but Verbatim now.
