I've got a Toshiba SD-M1612 that has a region free firmware applied to it and I get this error, too. I'm using a trial of AnyDVD 1.4.1.2 and CloneDVD 1.7.1.1. I'm running WinXP Pro SP1. I tried the widescreen side of Enter the Dragon Special Edition Region 1 NTSC and I get the exact same error. You even see this error on the third screen where you can ordinarily do a preview. Instead of the preview, this error is shown instead. I hope this helps in tracking it down. Good luck!

*Update*

I tried it on my Philips DVDRW228 DVD burner, as well, and again get the same error. This also has a region free firmware applied to it. If it makes any difference, this drive is sitting in an external firewire case and connected through firewire.

I have a PIONEER A05 and using PINNACLE INSTANT COPY I got a great copy of this film in widescreen retail 1 to 1, bcause it was under 4.3GB no need to compress VIA CLONEDVD, and side B I used DVD X COPY XPRESS for the CUT version of the film and this was all so great quality!

CLONEDVD is the best for all movies over 4.3gb 1 to 1 retail !!!!!!!!!
