Bad Dual DVD+ copy with CloneDVD2

I used CloneDVD2 to make a personal copy of the Dual layer DVD The Flying Dutchman with André Rieu on a Memorex Double Layer DVD +R. However, only the first half seems to be working and only on the drive where the copy was made. The latest and fanciest Panasonic Model DMR-EH75VS cannot play the disk at all.

With the cost of the dual +R blanks I am reluctant to try again before I have a good idea why I can only read the first half of the disk.

Any ideas?

Re: Bad Dual DVD+ copy with CloneDVD2

Hi and welcome to the forum

The only suggestion that you can get if you want to burn a DL disc, is to buy a good disc, and currently only Verbatim DL discs are reliable enough.

Changing booktype to ROM will improve compatibility too.

The only other alternative is to compress the original movie with clonedvd to fit on a single layer disc. Get rid of all unwanted material (like foregin languages, extras or anything you don't like) to reduce compression level as much as possible.

Memorex is not the greatest medium to use, it is hit and miss. Verbatim are the most dependant mediums to use. Try updating your firmware for your burner. Change booktype from DvD+R to DvD-Rom.
