Backup has Audio when played with ps2 but no audio on PC or standalone

I made a backup of sin city using any dvd/clone dvd...When i put the backup in my dvd writer, I try playing the movie with WinDVD-i get a picture but no audio. I put the backup in my PS2 and I get audio and video, everything is perfect. Is there any reason for this?

I also get no audio on a standalone dvd player.

I used Sony DVD +Rs (TYs)
NEC 3550a

anydvd/ clonedvd

@ Namence,

It is unknown as to what audio streams you included or un-included when you made your backup copy of this unknown Commercial DVD Movie Title so its only conjecture as to exactly what could be causing your problem with this particular unknown Commercial DVD Movie Title.

Suggest viewing the below Forum posting for information on how to identify and determine what the audio streams are in the CloneDVD software program. Refer to posting #6 comments.

The movie was Sin City, as stated in the OP. The only 2 audio options in CloneDVD were DTS and AC3, and I had them both enabled.

Did you copy the movie only, without menus? Next time I suggest to remove DTS. DTS streams are quite big, and since transcoding programs like CloneDVD don't recode audio, you'll see in most cases a sensible loss in video quality.

On your standalone DVD player, try with the button on your remote control that selects the audio stream (it should be labeled 'AUDIO' or something like that). Could be that the player selects automatically the DTS stream and your home cinema system is not setup/is unable to reproduce it. In that way it should switch to the AC3 stream. Probably your PS2 (which is not able to decode DTS, if I am not wrong), is smarter and selects AC3 automatically.

Hope this helps,

ET
