AnyDVD/CloneDVD & Liteon SHN165H6S No problem burning ISO and getting them to play on the originating PC and a Sony CD/DVD/Video CD 5 disc player. Can't get them to play on my Bose 321 or my Dell laptop or my Wife's Laptop. Used Double Layer DVD+R & DVD-R & DVD+R. ALL WORK ON SONY... NEED TO GET TO WORK ON BOSE. Bose states there product will play all media. Tried burning at 4x and still can not work on laptop. HELP!

Re: AnyDVD/CloneDVD & Liteon SHN165H6S @ Host_Killer, Welcome to the Forum. Certainly sounds like blank DVD media problem. Provide the MID (Manufacture ID and media code) (Example: TYG02) of the blank DVD media you are using. To acquire the MID (Manufacture ID and media code) use either DVD Identifier (http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com) or DVDInfo (http://www.dvdinfopro.com). Best Regards, bjkg

Re: AnyDVD/CloneDVD & Liteon SHN165H6S Have you updated the Firmware on the Liteon SHM-165H6S to HSO6. I had problems with the same drive until I updated the Firmware. Still have problems with copies in my Apex changer, but copies play fine in Apex single disc & Liteon Set top DVD recorder. Other sites have been saying that newer Liteon DL & Litescribe drives are puting too big of a gap at begining of Disc burn, causing problems with reading in some drives and players.

Re: AnyDVD/CloneDVD & Liteon SHN165H6S @ Host_Killer, Suggest visiting the CD Freaks Lite-On DVD Burner Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=44). There you will find Firmware for your Lite-On SHN-165H6S that provides the latest up to date media writing strategy, region free, and auto-bitsetting. With Lite-On SHN-165H6S auto-bitsetting Firmware all the DVD+R media you burn will automatically be burned to DVD-ROM booktype without any user intervention, which provides the maximum compatibly with all DVD payback devices. When visiting the CD Freaks Lite-On DVD Burner Forum don’t forget viewing the ‘Read First’ postings, which provides information concerning Firmware updates. Best Regards, bjkg

Re: AnyDVD/CloneDVD & Liteon SHN165H6S I have found out what the issue is... They sent me a CD update... Which didn't work... THEN I finally found someone at Bose that knows what the hell they are talking about. The BOSE 321 II doesn't support UDF but needs CDFS format. So know my question is HOW DO I BURN A DVD *.ISO IMAGE TO CDFS FORMAT? HELLLPPPPPP!!!! Thanks for all of your replies.

Re: AnyDVD/CloneDVD & Liteon SHN165H6S Host_Killer, So Bose lied in the original specifications? Requiring CDFS (whatever that is?) format is BS! Cause for getting your money back! Threaten them with bad exposure. Many high end DVD players, including Bose, Marantz etc, and especially ones more than two years old, have always had trouble with +/-R. They like original DVD's only and seem optimized for real DVD-ROM original movies. Try booktyping +R media to DVD-ROM format. Whisperer Last edited by Whisperer1; 10-03-2006 at 16:57.

| Re: AnyDVD/CloneDVD & Liteon SHN165H6S @ Host_Killer, I freely admit I am unaware of exactly what ‘CDFS’ is but suggest side stepping this ‘CDFS’ issue and don’t burn your DVDs in the ‘ISO’ format and burn your DVDs in the AnyDVD- CloneDVD DVD Writer DVD Files mode. I personally would demand a total complete refund on your Bose 321 and obtain a system that accepts files burned in the standard ISO UDF format. As a consumer you have every right to expect and demand that your purchases of major expensive components meet the standard acceptable format ( ISO UDF) and not some off the wall standard (CDFS) that no one is aware of. | Re: AnyDVD/CloneDVD & Liteon SHN165H6S @Host_Killer, You have bought the wrong equipment. I suggest you return it. It won't be able to play DVD. DVD-Video is based on UDF file system. As the link you provided says, CDFS is a file system for Linux systems that exports all tracks and boot images on a CD as normal files, which can be mounted as an ISO image, copied, played audio (WAV) and VideoCD (MPEG-1) tracks. In Windows terms, CDFS is short for CD-ROM (Compact Disk) File System. As for your laptops, do you really have a CD or DVD drive? |

Re: AnyDVD/CloneDVD & Liteon SHN165H6S Is this the Bose 321 Series II you have? The owner's guide (page 5) says it support DVD-video, DVD-R, DVD+R, etc. Does the Bose guy know what he's talking about? Have you tried playing different original bought DVDs? If it cannot play, then the equipment is defective. Burned DVD is a different issue. My post above is based on what you mention about CDFS.

Re: AnyDVD/CloneDVD & Liteon SHN165H6S Toaddub... That is my system... And yes they are full of sh*t (Bose). Spoke with another guy at the home office today and they are going to RMA my system. It plays DVD's rented and purchased, but not DVD+ or - R. Now Bose is shipping me a box to return my system for free. Furthermore, after reading several of the forums posts I have concluded there is now way I should have a problem using a .ISO image on DVD-R (Sony) media. Works on EVERYONE's DVD machines EXCEPT for my Bose. GO FIGURE. Will keep you posted on the new system... Whether or not it works with DVD-R. Thanks again.
