AnyDVD and CloneCD

I have purchased AnyDVD a while back and love the program. Right now I am on the trial version of CloneCD (heard it was good for 1:1 backups). My question is, is it best to use CloneCD and read to hard drive first and use CloneCD in write? or do both drives at once?

Re: AnyDVD and CloneCD

If I understood your question correctly...

I would prefer "to read to HD" (as you mentioned) first and would avoid copying on the fly.

Re: AnyDVD and CloneCD

He needs go no further than this forum, CloneCD will backup DVD " on the fly" using SL or DL media. It does not compress. The " onthefly" method is really up to the user, I do it all the time and my backups are perfect.

Re: AnyDVD and CloneCD

but I would just continure on with alan response as copy on the fly would require some basic setups to get going..

1. Each drive on separate IDE connectors and not on same IDE cable...
2. Have lots of Ram and fast CPU ... as this will become a memory and CPU intensive running application..
3. Must not and forget don't don't mulititask when doing copying on the fly as this will cause coasters to be made...let the computer have all the resources at its' disposal to do its' job!!

So if you must make duplicate of media choose a good DL media brand and copy to HDD and back to DL media to save on your system resources and hardware lifespan...
