| AnyDVD V3.2.1.1 No DVD Drive Detected ! Last night I installed AnyDVD, initially it worked after rebooting the PC, but now I am getting an intermittent problem which has required me to uninstall / reboot / install / reboot to get the software running. this morning, upon powering up the machine, i got the error message again. When going into the AnyDVD control panel, nothing has been changed, and the panel can display my drives. Pioneer DVD-103 Sony DRU-500A Virtual Drive (pinnacle Instant Drive) All 3 are ticked. My system is a generic P4 2.66 Hyperthreading, Gigabyte MB, running Win XP SP-1. I have also got Nero 5.5, Pinnacle Instant Copy & DVD Decryptor loaded up. I like the seamless use of the AnyDVD - esp. my Sony Burner is RPC-2 and it has not been region set as yet. The Pioneer is RPC-1 and is "region free" If anyone has come across a similar problem, i would appreciate some advice. I also have Norton Ghost, so if necessary I can go back to basics to see if the conflict can be identified. Attached is the error message. | It looks like AnyDVD driver is not loaded. Go into device manager, right click any DVD rom drive, choose "Properties". Select the "Driver" Tab, click "Driver Details". (I wonder why Microsoft always hides the interesting stuff deep down in property pages... )You must see the AnyDVD.sys driver listed there. If not, take the opportunity to download and install the newest version from www.slysoft.com (yes, they just have released a new version 3.3.2.1 or so) Best thing to do: Uninstall your current version, install the new version, then reboot. Hope this helps!

| Thanx for the prompt reply. I am now discovering that it is not intermiitent at the moment.. i will probably do the uninstall / reboot / install / reboot as suggested in the dialog and your reply. However, I have used the /SOS /BOOTLOG options in the boot.ini to see if anything appears - no errors from the boot up screen and the ntbtlog.txt indicates the driver is loaded. After reading your reply, i followed your instructions (device manager) and I can confirm that the anydvd.sys driver is loaded It looks as though i will give 3.3.2.1 a go as suggested. lucky it is currently on the 21 day trial so i have not wasted my money as yet..
