Almost Hour to rip files to Hard Drive!!?New to CloneDVD, Normally Use 1click

Up untill today, I have been using 1clickdvdcopy for my backups. From start to finish it takes me about 20-30 minutes (rip files to HD, then burn to dvd media... i prefer to keep the files for a couple of days incase i care to burn another backup)

I downloaded the latest version of CloneDVD today and have been giving it a look over - I will definately be purchasing this.

I am trying to backup "The Shield, Season 1, Volume 3". The program stated - after me walking away and comming back some time later - that it still had 45 minutes untill complete... this was ONLY to put the files on the hard drive. I used 1clickdvdcopy, and it took roughly 15 minutes.

I read a couple of posts about slow ripping time, and Ive read slysofts faq's ... still no joy

Edit: DMA is enabled, I do not have speed control on in AnyDVD

I've been using CloneDVD2 as long as I've been using regular 1Click. I think you will truely enjoy it. As stated on the other forum, as of this moment I prefer CloneDVD2 over 1Click Pro.

After install I did reboot, but thats about it.

My first backup took forever.... but the next one went smooth. All backups since have been in the 20-30 min start to finish... and not 45+ minutes just to backup files to HD

There seems to be too many glitches with 1clickpro - which is why i held off on purchasing it - I dont think ill bother, even with the discount. Ill stick with CloneDVD

Some movies, authored at a very high resolution bit rate, such as the Star Wars sequels and movies released in Superbit, or just densely data-packed DVD9 movies, take longer to rip.

What movie took a long time?

Hey guys, nice to see you over here. GaPony suggested that I try CloneDVD2 before I got Pro. I did, but I got Pro anyway as I expected it to work as good as Clone.....it hasn't. I find Clone actually does what you ask of it while Pro doesn't (Movie Only w/ Movie Only Menus don't work in Pro). If you want movie only with menus, Clone will do that. I find that Clone is better @ copying concert/music DVDs also.

Yea, im not going to bother with 1click pro. I was trying to figure out which way to go, but ... being on the other forums all the time... keep seeing the silly problems pro has. I figured Id try CloneDVD.... ive been useing Clone more these last couple of days that I have 1click regular.... but im not going to do a magic act and dissapear like some of the others

Re: Almost Hour to rip files to Hard Drive!!?New to CloneDVD, Normally Use 1click

I've noticed that with dense dvd-9 discs, that I have a faster back-up rate after a reboot and computer is fresh. If computer has been on a couple of days its a little sluggish to decode.

Just my 2 cents...

BTW using CloneDVD. Avg time to copy 20-35mins depnding on movie, if making a 2nd copy of previously backed-up movie(no CSS protection) usually 10mins to copy to HD.
