Hi...this is a really weird one...

We are having trouble in our app burning a certain brand and type of DVDs (specifically Imation 8X)...getting CRCs on a semi-regular basis. Conventional wisdom seems to be that CRCs are usually not a software or hardware problem. Rather, they are usually a media problem...at least that's what I'm reading.

One possible solution to the problem would theoretically be burning DVDs at 4X even if they are capable of 8X or 16X. Obviously, I'd rather not do it for all DVDs, since it's only the Imation's that are giving me trouble. Is there any way to know the brand name of the DVD in the drive?
