Problem with neroAPI.dll

Hello guys,
I want to use Nero SDK to burn datas on DVD.
For now, i test the samples of nero.
I have installed nero6601.exe which is a demo.
I run neroFiddles.exe after succeed compilation and when the program want to execute :

NeroBurn(ndhDeviceHandle, NERO_ISO_AUDIO_CD, &writeCD, NBF_WRITE, 0, &npProgress);

I have a message of this type : Unhandled exception in neroFiddles.exe(NEROAPI.DLL) CX0000000?? access violation.

Is someone can tell what i must do for this ?
Is it the fact that my nero is a demo ?
Are my parameters wrong ?

Ho,
I use MS Visual C++ 6.0 and SDV v.1.5.
the initialization is OK : "initialization of the Nero API successful"
my burner is recognize and it's a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-108

Thanks by advance

Perhaps you should try playing with NeroCMD. It is also part of the NeroSDK with full source code, has many more features and is better commented. It sounds like a better starting point for using straight NeroAPI.

Re: Problem with neroAPI.dll

I am also having problems with NeroAPI and the pioneer DVD-RW DVR-108.

I have an application based on NeroCMD that burns a data DVD+R from a directory. Most of the time, everything is fine. However, when many files are in the directory, there is a crash in the device driver and my computer restarts.

I am trying to burn approx 4000 files with a total size of around 2GB. At the moment, I am using VC++ 6 with the Nero API and no errors are reported.

Is this a known issue? Would switching to NeroCom help me?

Let me know if you need to see some code,
Cheers,
Andy

Does original NeroCMD have this problem?

Re: Problem with neroAPI.dll

I've just had a go with NeroCMD and seen the same crash.

Here are my args:
--write --real --drivename "f" --detect_non_empty_cdrw --import --backup --recursive --dvd --iso "test" "D:\Test\*"

I suspect that I am not using the latest firmware for my DVD drive - I'll check this & post whether this solves the problem.

Re: Problem with neroAPI.dll

OK, I've just upgraded the DVR-108 firmware to version 1.14 but I my system still crashes (in both NeroCMD and my own implementation, checked with new disks).

After the system crash, the Microsoft report states that the error was caused by a gaphics device driver, KB293078. I have followed the advice to switch off hardware acceleration for the driver, but the crash still occurs for NeroCMD.

I am in a position where I cannot reliably burn a DVD. System Info:
Windows XP, SP2 (fully patched)
248MB RAM + 500MB page file
AMD Duron 800MHz Processor
Pioneer DVR-108, firmware version 1.14
Nero 6.6.0.1
running NeroCMD (debug mode from VC++6, SP5, statically linked to NeroAPIGlue.lib).

Any ideas?
Cheers,
Andy

Re: Problem with neroAPI.dll

It looks like I've stumbled on a major problem here, I'm going to give this issue a thread of it's own...
