Reading & Playing Software Discuss, Rip speed comparison at Copy Movie forum; I was just wondering what sort of rip speeds you get. I'm using DVD Decrypter 3.1.7.0 with a pioneer 106s and it managed 7.58Gb in 11 1/2 minutes. How does that compare with anyone else?

Yep that sounds pretty good to me. You got up to 12.1 x transfer, for a single layered DVD thats about average, for a dual layered DVD, that excellent.

Rip speed will vary for just about every DVD. Some are silver, some gold, some in between & Single layer/dual layer all change the rip speeds. Of course your actual DVD reader/DMA on or off/your CPU speed/your HD Speed/ripping software all influence it as well.
