I have always used DVD Decrypter Version 3.1.4.0 when Decrypting files on FULL MODE to use with DVD2One.

After upgrading to the most recent release of DVD Decrypter I noticed that EVERY time I try and process a movie it crashes!

I downgraded again to Version 3.1.4.0 and everything seems fine!

I also noticed a few crashes when using Smartripper Version 2.41 as well!

It seems that correct ripping is very touchy when using DVD2One!
Use at your peril!

Something else must be wrong. I`ve used the current version for at least 50 movies and it has performed perfectly each time.

I agree with Cyber. Would re-check all your settings. I particuliarly like the new setting in file mode to automatically select all files. I have not seen any problem as of yet since upgrading.

Could be true although this "cure" has worked for me!

Pity that everything wasn't black & White!

Seems the only fact is stick with what works for you!

I have the smame problem with the new version crashing every time now using the old version and all works fine...
Even on a clean backup dvddecryptor keeps crashing..

I have done many rips with the new version and never a problem for me.

What OS are those that having problems and what ASPI version you have installed? I'm running Win2000 SP3 and 4.60 ASPI.

using windows XP home edition always used dvddecrypter with succes but the new one give's me error code on start of the program.
Even on a clean install of windows it still crashes so i use the older version with no problem's

I had trouble as well when try to launch program it opens and just hangs............

system info:

intel cel 1.7
1 gb DDR PC 2100 Ram
60 gb western digital HD

win xp pro

** smartripper works fine... also dvd shrink....

If you have the time, I'd be interested to see exactly where its hanging.

Open up regedit and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DVD Decrypter.

You should find an entry called 'InterfaceDebugMode'.
Set its value to 1 and then load up the program.

You 'should' see lots of commands (CDBs) flying up the screen in the log. Take note of the last few before it crashes, or if they just keep repeating, tell me which one it is.

I just re downlopaded & installed seems ok...??
Found my dvd rom an other drive.... only diffrence is i upgraded my dvd rom yesterday to a "lite on 61x" was using a compaq older 8 x dvd rom... maybe that was it?? but all seems well now ..

this thread is more than 1.5 years old, and dvd decrypter is up to version 3.5.1.0 now, so i suggest you update.

Yeah, lots of fixes with the newer version. I have used it a number of times with no issues. It certainly won't cost you anything to do the upgrade.

Failed to read Sector 2733872 - Illegal Mode For This Track

I get this error when I was trying to backup my Godfather Part3 disc using the dvd decrypter.

Try using the RipIt4Me front end - it adds new copy protection coverage for DVD Decrypter.

Just download the Installer and install it over the top of DVD Decrypter and it should be ok.

If that does not work, try DVDFab Decrypter, the free version:

Even on a clean install of windows it still crashes so i use the older version with no problem's

Open up regedit and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DVD Decrypter. You should find an entry called 'InterfaceDebugMode'. Set its value to 1 and then load up the program. You 'should' see lots of commands (CDBs) flying up the screen in the log. Take note of the last few before it crashes, or if they just keep repeating, tell me which one it is. Much appreciated

Found my dvd rom an other drive.... only diffrence is i upgraded my dvd rom yesterday to a "lite on 61x" was using a compaq older 8 x dvd rom... maybe that was it?? but all seems well now .. Thanks for a great tool for us dvd collectors !!
