| Damaged DVD Resulting in VOB Repair Hey,
I'm looking into a way to repair my DVD movie, the film suffers from a 'freeze frame' issue (or perhaps now a few).
The DVD in question was a dual layer movie and had become slightly damaged; in places the movie would freeze similar to the old DivX 3.11 Alpha issues when it used to become corrupt back in the day; I then proceeded to back it up to the computer using an Asus 16x DVD-Rom drive as my Pioneer A108 reported a CRC error copying one or two of the VOB files over.
The film still shows the same symptoms on my hard drive as it does on the DVD; so I was wondering if it was possible to use any software or otherwise to manipulate the VOB files or their content to either replace the offending frames or simply omit them. If/when playing the movie the software/player responds it is possible to 'skip ahead' past the offending part of the film.
A few initial google searches came up with ripping software; and a piece of software for the Mac OS X that featured a way to repair this problem when converting to MPG, unfortunately I do not own a Mac.
Any assistance or insight is greatly appreciated. |
