Re: Best PS2 DVD-Backup Media Sony isn't a good choice. They are okay but definitely not worth the price you pay for them. Ritek DVD-R is a good place to start and as always, Taiyo Yuden is an excellent choice. I recommend sticking to DVD-R with the PS2. The newer versions tend to do a better job reading +R than the older versions but all-in-all the PS2 seems to universally like quality DVD-R discs the most.

Re: Best PS2 DVD-Backup Media You obviously know nothing of the history of Datawrite if you are making those kind of comments. Some batches of Datawrite are very solid and work great, others are the devil. Datawrite is well known for constantly changing out it's manufacturers (Datawrite DOES NOT PRODUCE IT'S OWN DISCS) so you never truly know what you are going to get from batch to batch. That and they are well known for using B-Grade dyes.

Re: Best PS2 DVD-Backup Media As Jesterrace says with datawrite you never know what you will get some of the older datawrite (blue) i once got was ritek and they were good enough for what i wanted so i bought some more from the same place and they were not ritek but some other crap which i cant remember just now.. I am not saying ritek is good but they did me ok in the past but now they are very hit or miss in my opinion...

Re: Best PS2 DVD-Backup Media Hello Folks, The statement that DVD-R Media made in Japan works the best is a rather broad statement that is not necessarily true in all instances. Suggest visiting the CD Freaks Blank Media Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33) to obtain the most current up-to-date information concerning DVD Media. Best Regards, bjkg
