MovieJack 3 TV Output.

Hi,

Am trying out the latest version of MovieJack 3. Have tried converting DVD to DivX (5.04) and xDiv. Have all the latest drivers, Windows XP, good processor, memory etc.

My problem is as follows:

Conversion is good, that is, picture quality, sound and subtitles. When played on my PC everything is fine. However, when watching the same *.avi file through my TV-Out I am losing the right edge of the picture (the picture is narrower by 2 cm on the right side of the screen). Anyone else having similar problems? Haven't experienced this problem with DVD or other DivX playback.

Thanks.

First please update your DivX drivers, 5.04 had a flaw in the VfW part. Uninstall 5.04 and try 5.05 instead. Do you still have this effect?

Hi,

Same problem with DivX 5.05. I don't think it has anything to do with the DivX codec because the same problem occurs when using the XviD codec (I'm assuming they're not the same codec).

Thanks.

Strange. Can you encode a small video like 1-2 megabytes and email it to info@engelmann.com for examination?

Hi again,

Strange things are happening. I converted the same segment of movie into three formats DivX 5.05. XviD and Microsoft mpeg-4. When watching the TV output with either ACD mPowerTools, Windows Media Player 9 or Cyberlink PowerDVD the right 2 cm of the picture is missing.

But, when I load and preview these *.avi files in Windows Movie Maker or MovieJacks Cutter (image can be seen on the TV but not in Cutter) the picture is full sized and normal. Is this the doings of MovieJack or something else.

I am using nVidia 41.09 drivers for Win XP (DVD playback problems with 43.45) and have enabled cloning with fullscreen playback on the secondary device (TV).

Will be sending you a movie file shortly.

Thanks

This could indeed be a problem with your gfx card respectively the driver. Are there any options for dual-output (VGA plus TV) mode? Maybe you can adjust the picture. I don't think the 2cm are really missing, they are just off the screen. Adjustment of H-hold and picture size should fix that (if available). Awaiting the samples to examine this.
