GameJack 5 - Help! GameJack 5 ... just got it, and pulled my hair out trying to solve this config problem. This post will have a lot of informaton about my system, so that people can go ahead and approach the problem. First, the attachment dxdiag.txt. As you can see, I am using SP2. Secondly, the problem. I repeated and verified these steps in order to reproduce the problem. 1) Start gj5.exe to install 5.0.3.1 2) Clicked "English", then "OK" 3) Clicked through setup, specified program location, then Finished setup 4) Launched GameJack.exe 5) Clicked "Demo Version" on the trial screen 6) Went to "Driver Configuration" 7) Under "Use Driver", selected "GameJack 5" 8) Program closes, a msi dialog with the title "Universal SCSI Controller" pops up, and disappears in under a second. There is no further attempt to launch the program automatically. 9) Opened up program again. Clicked "Demo Version" on the trial screen 10) The msi dialog pops up for a split second, and then GameJack crashes with exception 0xc0000005 offset 021ba25f. I then checked the events log under Administrative Tools. The following appeared before the crash: --- event 1 Event Type: Information Event Source: MsiInstaller Event Category: None Event ID: 11708 Date: 5/23/2005 Time: 9:09:50 PM User: SERVER-XP\Jim Computer: SERVER-XP Description: Product: Universal SCSI Controller -- Installation operation failed. I had just completed a fresh install of SP2 on this computer, upgrading from the CD straight to SP2. Please help!!

Re: GameJack 5 - Help! More information. I tried launching unidrv.msi in the GameJack 5 folder, and this message popped up: "Installation Incomplete" "The installer was interrupted before Universal SCSI Controller could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again." I did not interact with the setup in any other way other than opening the file.

Re: GameJack 5 - Help! If you have an AMD64 cpu open your boot.ini and change the entry /NoExecute=OptIn to /NoExecute=AlwaysOff and reboot. Then reinstall the msi file from your gamejack folder and the installation should work. After installing the file change the boot.ini entry back to /NoExecute=OptIn

Re: GameJack 5 - Help! I have the exact same problem - I got my file from the official homepage and I still can't install the bugger Does anyone have any idea about what could cause it? All other software installs without problems - Alcohol, daemon tools, you name it. It's just Gamejack that acts weird...
